Where has time gone???

Well, it's september 10th already, I've been in school for over a month and I feel like I just started yesterday, time is flying, and it's good, cause I know I'm doing great in school, I'm starting to be seen as the guy-to-go-to when you have a doubt or problem in calculus or algebra, and I sort of missed that feeling, wich I hadn't felt since high school, over three years ago. Things here at my work are doing better to, there is no more over time and I don't have to come work on saturdays, so I can sleep late, and spend the day with my family or my beautiful girlfriend. The only bad thing happening in my life is the fact that I never have any money even though I work, I always owe all the money, or have to buy a book for school, or the gas for the car, or something, there's always something where my money tends to go, lol. But I'm getting used to it. I'm looking for extra sources of income right now, cause whenever I get paid, by the next day I don't have any money, and that really really sucks, never try it, lol, it's not fun. I will use my knowledge in algebra and calculus to try and make some money by tutoring people or something like that, plus I like helping people, so I think that's a great idea, but let's see how it goes...

So Far, So Good

Well, it's been two weeks since school began, and I'm actually doing pretty good, I have been doing my homework (which I didn't use to do even when I had free time), I haven't missed a single class and I'm buying new textbooks instead of just copying the pages I need, and best of all, I'm reading the textbooks and am learning things that not even the teacher can teach me. And even though I sleep 5 hours on weekdays, I have been going at full energy, lol. And as of work, I started coming on saturdays too, which sucks, but I need the money to pay the money I borrowed for school, so I can't complain. Overall I'm feeling good about myself right now, although I barely have time to do anything, cause I get up to go to school and then I just have time to eat between school and work, but I will do anything at my disposal to not drop out of school again.

School begins...

Ok, it's August 6th and today is the first day of school... yeah, I know what you're thinking, that sucks, and I couldn't agree more. It's 2:10am and I have to get up at 6am and be in school at 7am, yup, for some reason I can't sleep, and I find myself using the computer wich makes it much worse, cause it won't make me sleepy at all, but the opposite, I'll probably sleep like 1 hour, but that has happened to me every first day of school since like high school, and it's not that I'm excited, just wondering what school can bring this new semester, if I really am going to like it, or if it's just going to be like a place I go to because I have to, and not because I want to... but yeah, I'm going to try and sleep a little bit, becuase when I get off school I have to go to work, and that lasts till midnight, so I will only be sleeping like 5 hours a day (yeah, that's too little for me, I have to sleep at least 8 hours)...

The last of my Summer

Yeah, it's been a while since I last posted in here, but what the hell. The most interesting thing that I've done in all my year by far is going to Phoenix to the Ozzfest and then see Dream Theater the very next day, and yeah, the Ozzfest was free, so it was like meant by all the gods, lol. Anyway, Since we were going to spend at least two days in Phoenix, but we also wanted to go to the mall and downtown Phoenix, so we stayed there for 3 days, which meant I had to miss work, of course.

The week before that (July 16th-20th), I had to work like a slave so that I wouldn't be affected for not going to work almost all week, so I started doing 14-15 hour shifts for like 4 days, cause on top of that, there was and still is a shitload of work, and the project manager keeps calling everybody to go to work on sundays and shit like that, that's why she almost killed me when I told her I was going to be away for three days, but I managed to survive, lol. But yeah, after working my ass of that week, the weekend finally came.

It's saturday night (July 21st), and I was invited to Chuy's parents "bodas de plata", and there I am all dressed up (something that does not happen very often), and I went with my girlfriend, Mari, Lisa, my mom and my aunt Martha, and Chuy and Angelica were already there. It was the perfect night to make fun of Mari and Angelica, cause they never get dressed up, and they feel uncomfortable, lol, but yeah, they looked pretty nice, but not as nice as me, lol, just kidding Mari. It was a great night, at this pretty nice salon in Juarez, and everybody looked super nice.

Finally, monday came, we left for Phoenix at like 3am on Tuesday so we could make it to the whole Ozzfest (July 24th). It was Kevin, Brenda, Mundo, Mari & me on the way to Phoenix in Kevin's Mitsubishi Lancer '05, I fell asleep for like half of the trip cause I hadn't slept so well, and we got there at like 9am, and the show started at noon, so yeah, we had to wait for a while, and everybody thought that we were going to burn to death, cause it's Phoenix and it's the middle of summer, but it was raining when we got there, which was pretty cool for waiting in line. A lot of cool bands played, I didn't know most of them, but some of them were pretty cool. When the bands started playing it started to get hot as hell, and we only saw 4 of them, and listened to the rest of the second stage from a little "resgint place" we found. The second stage was Hatebreed, Behemoth, Ankla, Circus Diablo, The Showdown, 3 Inches of Blood, Daath, In This Moment & Chthonic. Nile was supposed to be there, but they couldn't make it or something, so they didn't play, that sucked ass. Anyway, it was time for the main stage and this band Lordi played, and I know everybody has their tastes in music, but most of the poeple at the Ozzfest can agree with me when I say, Lordi totally sucks. This is when Angelica and Chuy arrived, and then came Static X, next was Lamb of God (it was my 3rd time seeing them) and Brenda started feeling sick or something so Mari and Kevin took her to the hotel so they missed the rest of the show, and at last Ozzy Osbourne, second time seeing him, and it was still pretty damn cool. The Ozzfest was over and I was exhausted for standing for that much time and we ate and went to sleep.

Next day we went to the Arizona Mills Mall, and compared to the Malls I've seen, it was pretty cool, but the best part was the IMAX theater, I never imagined it would be so cool, damn, I wish there was one here in Juarez, but yeah, that's a long way. If you haven't been to one, GO!!! See a 3D movie, they're the best, but yeah. After that we went to the Dream Theater show, we arrived a little late, but the tickets were numbered so it was ok, but we missed most of Into Eternity, and I had an extra ticket cause my brother couldn't make it, so I took time to try and return it, but they wouldn't want to, so yeah, wasted money, but I had two seats to my own, lol. Next was Redemption, I like this band, though I only started listening to them when I heard they were supporting Dream Theater, and I liked them so it was cool. But then the moment of truth came, the very same reason I had gone all the way to Phoenix, the lights went out and a street light that was hanging from the stage flashed green, we all knew it was about to start, and indeed, it did. They played Constant Motion, Panic Attack, Blind Faith, Surrounded, The Dark Eternal Night, Jordan Rudess played a solo, Lines In The Sand, Another Day, The Spirit Carries On, In The Presence Of Enemies, and for the encore they played a medley of New Millenium/Finally Free/Learning To Live/In The Name Of God/Octavarium. Best show ever... well after GIGANTOUR, yup.

The next day we went downtown, just walking around, getting to know the city a little bit, and the final stop was the Hard Rock Cafe, and hell was it expensive, Kevin had to buy my food cause I didn't have any money left, lol, yeah, Kevin is awesome. And then we left for El Paso, now it was Chuy, Angelica and me in Angie's Honda Civic Coupe '07, beautiful car, and the rest in Kevin's, and in the way we stopped at this place that was full of gigantic rocks that seemed to be placed carefully there by something or someone, and it was pretty cool, we found a little structure that was unfinished, and that's odd cause, who would want to build something there, but yeah, back in El Paso we had some fireworks and they were pretty cool, we were standing in the middle of nowhere, lol, but on the highway, then we got home and I came back to Juarez, yup, that's the story about Phoenix, and that's about all I've done since my last post, and I'm going back to school next monday, can't wait.

Visiting my Aunt and Cousins

So yeah, my life has been tremendously boring lately, since I haven't gone to school for over six months now and my job is the most boring job there is, I'm a Team Leader in a Data Entry project, but I work in the night shift so there's hardly any work, but I use the time to do this thing, among others of personal interest, lol.

Anyway, last thursday I decided to pay a little visit to my aunt and cousins in El Paso, TX. My cousins have only been living there again for like a week, they were living in Las Cruces, NM, so that's why I couldn't visit them that often before. I swear I couldn't walk freely in their house because of so many shit lying all over the place because of the moving, and you should see Mari's bedroom, damn, talk about a messy room, but anyway, I didn't offer to help of course, so it stayed that way all day long. I got there at like noon, and Mari had just finished taking a shower, and Angelica & Chuy were still asleep, I mean, what the fuck is that!!!! I didn't spend an hour in the Juarez-El Paso bridge just to wait a little bit more, but my Aunt offered me something to eat, so it was worth the while, lol.

We (Marisol & Me) were supposed to go to the movies to see Die Hard with her friend Mundo, but she didn't know what time he got out of work, but she eventually found out he got out at like four or something like that, I don't remember, and we were going at 7, and it was barely like 2, so we had like four hours and didn't know what to do. Had it been another time, and all of their stuff wasn't lying around the house, we could've jammed a little bit, or played some Wii, but, no, no, no, Marisol took like 1 hour doing her hair, and I had to hold my little niece So(phia) (Angelica's daughter) and just walk around, because she started crying when I sat down, the good thing is that she's really small and not so heavy, and she laughs at my face... Mmm... I wonder why... But yeah, after that I helped Chuy (So's father) place a speaker of Angelica's home theater in the wall, and after like 30 minutes (damn screws were making it real hard, they were to short and those are the ones that came with the thing) we placed it, so we put some Dream Theater to test it was working and all that, and just to find out the speaker didn't work, FUCK!!!! I hate it when things stop working for no damn reason at all!!!! But yeah, they had to put a speaker of a stereo meanwhile.

So it was 6:15 and we had to leave at 6:30 to make it on time for the movie, and I was carrying little So (oh, what a surprise) but I had to eat, but everytie I put her in the couch or when I sat down she started crying and nobody else could hold her so I couldn't eat, finally my Aunt grabbed her and I had to eat in like 2 minutes. On our way there Marisol was all like "I don't know where the theater is, we're going to get lost", and yeah, I believed her, I mean, it's Marisol, lol, but we didn't get lost, and Mundo was there waiting for us. Ok, I'm not going to tell you about the movie, it's best for you to see it. So after the movie, we went to Wendy's but Marisol didn't want to drive her car (mmm, why would that be, what in the "World", lol, Mari will get it). So we got there and just started talking, and I had to leave at 11 so I could make it on time to work, I didn't know Mundo, but he's really cool, he's into prog metal and he plays guitar, cool dude. We left at 10:45 and for my surprise... yes... Marisol didn't know how to get back to her home, so obviously we drove the wrong way at first untill she realized it, but we got to her home on time and I made it to work, and that's the end of this, yup. You should watch Die Hard 4.

HELP! Tribute band to The Beatles

It's a saturday morning... well afternoon and my cousin wakes me up with a phone call, telling me that the biggest mexican Tribute Band is going to play at Parque Chamizal for an event called "Arte en el Parque" (yes, that's Art in the Park, lol), and it had been a while since I listened to Beatles music, and naturally I had to pick her up (which is why she called me) and four other cousins that were just waiting for me to approve so they could go and "babysit" them cause they're all like 10 years old.

We got there around 4pm, and just started walking and buying stuff, they even sold houses there, I don't know why, but I didn't care, but yeah, my cousin Claudia (the one that woke me up, and the one in the picture) bought a alcohol-free Piña Colada, and she had recently had a surgery, and she can't eat and drink a lot of things, but she said it was ok to drink the Piña Colada, so we let her. But like half an hour later she sat down and started telling us how she didn't feel good, but she just needed to rest a bit. After a while she got up and started walking towards me like a zombie or something, and telling me "take me home, I'm not feeling ok" and then she grabbed on to me cause she was about to fall, and I was just looking everywhere for help, untill this man went to get the paramedics that were there, but nothing major happened, she just neede to sit down and get some air, and drink some water, but after that I had to take her home, and then come back to see the main show.

When I got a band was playing and I slefishly kept thinking "damn, I missed the beggining", and took me like 20 minutes to find the rest of my cousins and a friend I had ran into and tagged along. They played for like 45 minutes more and I said "What??? That's it???? It's just 8 o clock!!!!!" untill I heard the singer say, "now stick around for the main show, they're just going to prepare and they'll come out", man, was I happy it was not over, cause they didn't play Let It Be, or Hey Jude or Yesterday (songs they simply have to play). The cool thing about the main band is that they dressed like The Beatles, and they were playing by periods of The Beatles records, they played for like an hour and a half, and of course they closed with Help, giving credit to their name.

Concert of the Symphonic Orchestra of UACJ

So, it's a typical day in my life, you know, nothing interesting, it's 3pm, it's hot as hell and the heat wakes me up (yes, I was asleep at 3pm). So I get up, I eat, and I'm waiting for my brother to get off the computer, and he tells me "Hey, do you want to go to a classical music concert here???", first thing I think is, "ok, he's obviously joking, since when are there concerts of classical music???" and then "Why is he inviting ME??? He's got my other brother" (I later found out he invited me to give him a ride). So I get up and go to the computer and it turns out it was true, there was a classical music concert here, and I said, what the hell, I'll go, I don't have anything better to do.
So, we arrived, and it was a gorgeous theater, I literally didn't think we were in Juarez, it is well designed and it looks awesome, even the bathrooms look awesome, and it holds up to like 2000 people. But yeah, I was excited just looking at the place and then the Orchestra came out and started playing "Capricho Español" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, and they played pretty damn good, I didn't know there was this awesome Orchestra here in Juarez (I love my city, by the way, lol). And then they played "Rapsodia Hungara Numero 2" by F. Liszt, beautiful. And last, the one we were waiting for "Sinfonia Numero 5" by L.V. Beethoven. It was awesome, the first classical music concert I ever go to, and I didn't regret it, I'm going again in October to watch the same Orchestra play Mozart's Requiem. So yeah, I still can't believe that I would go to one of those in here, but yeah, it hapened. Then I came to work, you know, same shit as everyday.

Back from Delicias

Ok, I got back from Delicias like 5 hours ago, and it was awesome. This is my first trip on my own, and it felt great, I kind of feel more mature just for doing this, and I love to travel, so... The people in there are really nice... well, almost all the people, and it's nice little city. They have this museum of Paleontology, it's a little small, but they have huge fossils, and they have these two human skeletons, those look scary as hell!!! And close to Delicias there's this Dam, called Presa Las Virgenes or something like that, which is also pretty cool, you can go camp in there and rent boats and that kind of stuff. But yeah, it only has one movie theater and it's kind of small but it's also nice, kind of old-fashioned. And everything is at a short walking distance from downtown, so it's cool to just walk and see where you end up. But anyway, overall it was a good place to spend a weekend, but it's also nice being home, it's about 5 hours driving distance from where I live in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua. I hope to take more trips to new places, it's one of the things I love the most, going to new places, I hope next time I'll go to a beach.

Preparing for my Road Trip

So, yeah, tomorrow I'm going on a Road Trip to a little city called Delicias, here in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico, and I'm really excited, cause even though it's a small city, It's going to be only me & my girlfriend, so, no parents or brothers or annoying cousins, lol. But yeah, we get to do anything we want (as long as there's enough money for it), and no waiting for like 20 people to take a shower in the same bathroom, thus taking like 3 hours just so everyone is ready to go.
Everyone's been telling me that I should go on bus, cause it's dangerous and stuff, but they are going to say that to me even if I had been driving for like 30 years, and I have to do it someday, so I'm going to do it now, we're going on Shade (that's my car's name), and staying in a cheap hotel, and buy cheap food, so we can have enough moeny to go to all the places there are (if there even are). But yeah, I'll update this thing when I get back from my trip, tell how it went, or maybe you can go visit at the hospital if something happens to me.
